Our story is one of personal determination, family, and a commitment to lasting health—right here on the Delaware coast.

Approaching his mid 40's, James realized he wanted to build healthy habits to be there as long as possible for his future family. His wife deals with health challenges, and his sons wrestle—both reasons that made investing in wellness feel essential. Frustrated that he couldn't find anyone to build or help with a personal sauna, James dove in: researching custom outdoor designs, buying tools, sketching a compact 4x6 sauna, and saving for a year. It took him about 8 months of dedicated work to complete his own backyard sanctuary.

The build sparked curiosity—friends, neighbors, and locals asked endless questions about the process, materials, and benefits of sauna use. Then, about a year later, tragedy and opportunity aligned: James's grandfather passed away, leaving him a modest inheritance of a few thousand dollars. James saw it as the perfect seed to honor his grandfather's memory—starting a company where he could work with his hands, just as his grandfather valued, while helping others embrace a healthy lifestyle that might add precious years with their loved ones.

He named it Siwell Sauna—a clever twist on his last name, Lewis, spelled backwards as "Siwel" with an extra "l" for "well," symbolizing true wellness rooted in the sea-swept shores of coastal Delaware.

Today, every Siwell sauna carries forward that legacy: a founder's grit, a grandfather's quiet pride, and a family's hope for more time together—blending ancient heat traditions with Delmarva resilience, one custom build at a time.
